Heavy Storms Result in Mold

When severe storms strike, an all too common consequence for homes and businesses is mold damage.  As water infiltrates and affects the structure, whether through roof leaks, wind driven rain, or rising floodwater, mold growth can begin in as little as 48 hours if not properly dried.  After a major storm event, the above property had an unnoticed roof leak, which led to substantial mold growth in the kitchen.  SERVPRO of Northwest Escambia County responded by containing the affected area, removing the non-salvageable materials, "packing out" and storing the salvageable kitchen contents, and performing mold remediation work.  The end result was a safe environment for the family to return home to.
